Agriculture Commissioner Reviczky Announces New Farmland Restoration Program
  (HARTFORD, CONN.) Agriculture Commissioner Steven K. Reviczky announced today that the State Bond Commission approved $5,000,000 in funding on Monday for the Connecticut Department of Agriculture's new Farmland Restoration Program.

National Honey Report: New England
  (January 17, 2012) In New England overall, the month of December exhibited cold, seasonal temperatures replacing the earlier abnormally warm weather. This weather pattern offered little rain or snowfall with only measureable snowfall in high-level terrain. Moisture levels were about average and seasonally adequate. Early December weather was erratic with on-and-off cold and mild weather.

  The Governor’s Council for Agricultural Development met on January 5, 2012, after a long hiatus. The Connecticut Weekly Agricultural Report (CWAR) sat down with Agriculture Commissioner Steven K. Reviczky (CR), pictured at right, to learn more about the council, its mission, and its makeup.

Agriculture Commissioner Reviczky Announces Pilot Program for Community Farms Preservation
  (HARTFORD, CONN.) Connecticut Agriculture Commissioner Steven K. Reviczky today announced $2,000,000 in funding for farmland preservation through the Connecticut Department of Agriculture’s new Community Farms Preservation Program. This pilot program, authorized by Connecticut General Statutes 22-26nn, allocates Community Investment Act funds for cooperative state-local farmland preservation projects in qualifying municipalities.
