Keynote Speakers Announced for 2015 CEN Conference: Making the Connections that Matter

The Connecticut Education Network's 3rd annual conference, Making the Connections that Matter, will be held on May 15, 2015 at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford, CT.  Matt Watts of Netapp and Dr. Jeff Borden of Saint Leo University will deliver the keynote speeches this year.

This annual conference brings members from K-12, universities, libraries and municipalities from across the state together to gain useful knowledge on technological advances in their field. The morning plenary session will be opened by Matt Watts, Director of Technology and Strategy, from NetApp a leading data management and storage company and ranked #3 as best place to work in the world. Matt will be travelling to Hartford from the United Kingdom to share his insights on the evolution of IT in our daily lives with focus on the impact this is having on our children in schools and our future world of work. In his role at Netapp, he provides guidance on NetApp Strategy and Technology to NetApps Customer and Partner Community and he has more than 20 years of IT experience.

Dr Jeff Borden, Chief Innovation Officer of Saint Leo University, Florida, will present the afternoon plenary session, sharing his vision of the future of education, Education 3.0, and drawing on his expertise in neuroscience, cognitive (learning) psychology, and education technology. He previously worked as Vice President of Instruction and Academic Strategy at Pearson. Jeff is a professional speaker who has spoke at conferences on education, eLearning, technology, communication, and effective teaching.

This one-day conference hopes to attract over four hundred people to the event, drawn from educators, IT specialists and librarians from Connecticut schools, higher education institutions, libraries and municipalities. Register now
