| NFPA releases New Scald Prevention Tip Sheet |
| | The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and the Phoenix Society for Burn Survivors is urging the public to be cautious when handling hot liquids and soups. Scald burns are the second leading cause of all burn injuries and children, older adults and people with disabilities are especially at risk.

| Commission Receives Donation to Support Training Program |
| | At the November 29, 2011 meeting of the Commission on Fire Prevention and Control Alyce DeAngelo, CPCU, API and Director, Good Works Committee for the Connecticut Chapter of the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters presented a donation in the amount of $1,000 for the purchase of a television set with built in DVD player and training foam used in training offered by the Commission’s Connecticut Fire Academy. |
