for Registration Renewal
An invitation to renew your registration will automatically be mailed to you within 60 days prior to your expiration date. If you did not receive an invitation to renew in the mail, please request an invitation
What to do:
- Be sure to meet compliance requirements. If you have outstanding issues as noted on the top portion of the renewal application, you must resolve them to renew your registration.
Keep the center portion of the renewal application. That is your actual new registration certificate that you are to keep in your vehicle at all times.
- Pay your registration fee. See "Payment Options" below.
- Verify that DMV has processed your payment. Once DMV processes your payment and any compliance issues are resolved, your registration is valid.
- If you registration is expired, please follow these additional instructions.
Through the mail. Send the bottom portion of your registration renewal application along with the required payment in the return envelope provided.

Make sure to bring your registration renewal application and required payment.

Fees vary by registration type. Refer to your registration renewal notice for total fee.
LATE FEE: An additional $10 late fee is charged if the registration is not renewed five days after the expiration date of the current registration. If expired for a year or more, a new registration must be obtained.
