Route 163 from Route 82 to Caroline Drive
  State Transportation Commissioner Joseph F. Marie announced today that a Milling and Resurfacing project will be performed on Route 163 from Route 82 to Caroline Drive in Montville/Bozrah. This project is scheduled to Take place on or about Monday, July 7, 2008 and continue through Monday, August 4, 2008.

Route 1-84 (eastbound) from Exit 8 to Exit 10, in Newtown
  State Transportation Commissioner Joseph F. Marie announced today that a Bridge Maintenance project will be performed on I-84 (eastbound) from Exit 8 to Exit 10 in Newtown. This project is scheduled to take place on or about Tuesday, July 8, 2008 and continue through Thursday, July 10, 2008.

Reconstruction of I-95 from Exit 50 to Exit 51 in New Haven is nearing completion. Another important step towards completion of the I-95 New Haven Harbor Crossing Corridor Improvement Program
  Newington, CT- The Connecticut Department of Transportation is pleased to announce that work on Contract C2 of the I-95 New Haven Harbor Crossing Corridor Improvement Program is nearing completion. Contract C2 is located in New Haven and consists of the reconstruction of approximately one mile of I-95 just east of Stiles Street in New Haven to the New Haven/East Haven town line.

This project is scheduled to begin on or about Wednesday, June 25, 2008 and continue through Wednesday, July 16, 2008.

State Line, in Willington, Ashford & Union. This project is scheduled to begin on or about Sunday, June 22, 2008 and continue through Thursday, September 4, 2008.

Bridge Rehabilitation Project Begins Hollow Tree Ridge Road over I-95 Town of Darien, CT
  The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that construction work has commenced on the Hollow Tree Ridge Road Bridge over Interstate 95 in the town of Darien. The project involves the replacement of the Hollow Tree Ridge Road Bridge as well as reconstruction of approaches to the bridge extending to the Noroton Heights Railroad Station entrance.

New Speed Change Lane Project Begins Interstate 95 at interchanges 11, 12 and 13 Town of Darien, CT
  The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that the next Speed Change Lane Project for I-95 has started between Exits 11 and 13 in the Town of Darien. The speed change lanes are located where interchanges are closely spaced in order to provide an additional length for the acceleration and deceleration of vehicles entering or exiting the highway.

DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION URGES MOTORCYCLISTS TO BE SAFE
  Summer weather is in full swing here in Connecticut and motorcyclists and scooter riders are taking full advantage to enjoy riding their favorite routes throughout the state. Whether it’s to get to work, get better fuel economy or to enjoy a scenic ride along one of the State’s many rural roads, riding a motorcycle or street legal scooter is a great way to stay cool and enjoy the summer. New safe riding courses allow more Connecticut riders immediate access to life saving training.

For all other roadways, allowable operations will be determined on a project by project basis. Routine maintenance work will not be scheduled during these times. Only work of an emergency nature will be considered.

Connecticut Department of Transportation & Metro-North Railroad Showcase New M-8 Rail Car Interior
  The Connecticut Department of Transportation (ConnDOT) and MTA Metro-North Railroad (MNR) today unveiled the M-8 rail car interior. The interior “mock-up” was built by Kawasaki Rail Car, Inc., the M-8 rail fleet manufacturer in Japan this winter, and transported by ship for testing and review. The ConnDOT and MNR are making the interior mock-up available for customers to view the inside design, color and seat configuration of the M-8 rail fleet.
