Bridge No. 01127: The primary purpose of this project is to replace the existing Bridge No. 01127, which carries Route 80 (Foxon Road) over the Farm River. The structure is structurally deficient and functionally obsolete. The proposed project comprises the design of a new bridge to replace the existing structure with associated approach roadway safety improvements. The new bridge structure will be constructed using the concept of a temporary bridge bypass to maintain two-lanes of the current opposite directional traffic.
Construction of this project is anticipated to begin in spring 2016 and would be completed
in one to two-year construction season. The estimated construction cost for this project is
approximately $3.1 million. This project is anticipated to be funded using part Federal
and supplemented with State funds.
Plans will be available for public review at the North Branford Town Hall. Department personnel will be available during the meeting to discuss this project.
