CDC Confirms Additional Cases of EV-D68 in Connecticut
  The Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH) today said it has been notified by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) of 12 new laboratory-confirmed cases of enterovirus D68 infection (EV-D68).

CDC Confirms First Case of EV-D68 in Connecticut Child
  The Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH) today received confirmation from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) of a confirmed case of enterovirus D68 infection (EV-D68) involving a Connecticut child. The child, who was recently hospitalized, has since improved and been discharged.

Health Alert: Enterovirus D68
  The Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH) has received reports from two hospitals in different parts of the state of clusters of severe respiratory illness among young children that could be due to enterovirus D68 (EV-D68). We are working with the hospitals to facilitate testing for EV-D68 by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). When test results are available from the CDC, DPH will share a summary of that information with health care professionals and the public.

Seasonal West Nile Activity Waning but Threat Remains
  The State Mosquito Management Program reminds residents to take steps to prevent mosquito bites as West Nile virus (WNV) is present in Connecticut. So far this season, the Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station (CAES) has identified WNV infected mosquitoes in Fairfield, Hartford, Litchfield, New Haven and New London counties.
